In our quest to perfect the craft of sampling, we are extremely proud to present the Piano Toy – a small instrument made huge by our dedication and innovative methods of recording, mixing and developing sample libraries.
From the recording session, the piano was recorded and mixed using three perspectives: Inside, Musician and Far, where, thanks to our expertise in three-dimensional recording and mixing, you will be able to experience the instrument as realistically as possible.
Mixes
The Inside mix will immerse you in the instrument and you will hear its resonance envelop you. It has a huge image and is not directional.
The Musician mix will keep the piano at your fingertips and you will feel perfect realism as you play. The perfect balance between directionality and image.
The Far mix provides a more distant kind of sound, perfect for when you want to use the piano as a background for your music. It is very directional and its image is very narrow.
Since Piano Toy was recorded and mixed in both Ambisonics and Stereo, whether your music is played in Stereo, Surround, Atmos, for VR or even custom speaker arrays, the results will always be as close to reality as possible!
Articulations
Our main goal when sampling Piano Toy was to offer the best of the best! To do this, we went all the way and not only sampled the typical sustains from any other library, but also sampled the keystrokes for maximum realism of the action…
Oh, and we also took the liberty of using muted, plucked, and even felt versions: can you imagine a toy felt piano? Now you can play it!
Finally, to create the perfect complement to acoustic articulations, we designed 10 pads that will sit comfortably in the background of the “toy piano”! All pads are perfectly looped and have been designed in BOTH stereo AND ambisonics, so no matter your speaker array, you will feel the sound envelop you!

Thanks to our sample deconstruction technique (developed for Tangent Drum), we present you with the “Toy Piano” as a 6-octave instrument, free from any glitches that traditional pitch shifting creates. Now you can play a real toy piano across most of your keyboard with beautiful results!
