A complete collection of South American virtual instruments, created in collaboration with renowned multi-instrumentalist Alejandro Fatur. Featuring guitars, harps, brass, drums and instant mood-setting elements, this versatile toolkit sets a new standard for capturing the authentic spirit and sound of the region.
The fourth installment of our World Orchestra series: PACHA Ethnic Orchestra.
Featuring over 50 diverse instruments including plucked strings, brass, percussion and sound design elements, this collection captures the rich essence of a true South American ensemble. Designed with authenticity in mind, it features advanced tuning controls and dedicated performance tools tailored to the unique playing styles and tonal characteristics of each instrument.
Pacha Ethnic Orchestra is the result of a collaboration between Strezov Sampling and Alejandro Fatur – a renowned multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer and producer from Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina – to ensure an authentic presentation and the highest quality throughout the recording process. An expert in South American music, Fatur presents a rich collection of traditional plucked strings, brass and percussion instruments, all performed with deep mastery. His work is based on expressive studio recordings where he layers guitars, flutes, charangos, sikas, antaras and more – like a painter creating texture and emotion on a canvas.
All instruments are recorded from two microphone positions – close and far. The library is divided into four different categories for easy navigation.
PEO contains:
- Plucked Strings (including chords and tremolos)
- Woodwinds (legato and some short ones)
- Percussion (high/low and phrases)
- Sparks (with controlled stems)
Plucked String Chords
This collection features 12 beautifully recorded authentic string instruments. Recognizing their central role in accompanying songs, dance, and in ensemble and solo performance, we felt it necessary to include a wide range of pre-recorded chord variations.
Three types of chords – major, minor and dominant – are played and presented in five different articulations:
- Chord tremolo
- Chord tremolo swell
- Chord sustains
- Chord shorts
- Chord strums
To ensure intuitive playing, the keyboard layout is color-coded and organized into three octaves:
- Purple – major chords
- Blue – minor chords
- Green – dominant chords
The first four key switches are responsible for triggering the usual sustains, staccato, mordents, trills (major and minor), followed by 5 different types of chord executions.
Percussion
Being a huge part of South American music culture, it is important to us to properly showcase the drums and percussion of the region. A mix of African, Indigenous and Spanish roots are widely represented. We have recorded 29 different percussion instruments, with high and low variations, struck by hand or with a stick, whether wooden or metal. (details in the “Manual” below). This layout will be familiar to any user of our existing X3M drum libraries.
By default, the library requires a 12-digit code. To prevent this from happening, you need to move the Pacha Ethnic Orchestra folder in the root distribution folder to the directory that matches your criteria.
