Born of passion, honed by craftsmanship
Fazioli grand pianos are created with outstanding craftsmanship, cutting-edge technological innovation, careful selection of materials and, of course, a sincere passion for music and musicians. Although the impressive size of the F308 (a whopping 308 cm!) certainly attracts attention, true perfection is hidden in the features of its design.
The secret of the powerful and crystal clear sound of the F308 is in the extended strings of the lower and middle registers, as well as a number of innovative solutions that have brought worldwide recognition to the Italian manufacturer. The basis of the instrument is a deck made of spruce growing in the same forest of the Italian Val di Fiemme valley where Antonio Stradivari selected wood for his legendary violins.
The magic of the fourth pedal
The F308 in the Vienna Synchron Stage has a unique invention of Fazioli – the fourth pedal. Located to the left of the classic triple, it lowers the keyboard and brings the hammers closer to the strings, reducing the volume of the sound without changing the timbre, and at the same time preserving all the overtones and resonances, but with a softer, more transparent sound. It also facilitates the performance of glissando, fast passages and legato. In addition, by combining the una corda pedal with the fourth pedal, pianists can expand the F308’s palette of delicate sonic nuances.
Machine precision, natural sound
To digitalise this instrument in all its nuances, our engineers used a high-precision system based on a solenoid that controls a silent “robotic finger”. A microcontroller moves the finger with precision, ensuring a smooth key press and a natural release.
By refining recording and processing methods in parallel with software development, we created Synchron Fazioli F308, a new benchmark in piano sampling. Over 360,000 samples guarantee stunning authenticity.
The Fazioli F308 was recorded by our engineers at 11 microphone positions with perfect phase synchronisation.
