Yamaha CFX is a magnificent handmade concert grand piano measuring 275 cm in length, combining many years of Japanese piano craftsmanship with incredible emotionality. Its sound palette is striking in its range: from powerful, dramatic chords to the most tender and delicate nuances.

The CFX’s distinctive tone – precise, bright, clear and powerful – makes this instrument incredibly versatile. It is equally at home in classical, romantic and contemporary pieces, whether solo, chamber or with an orchestra. And thanks to its rich and expressive sound, the CFX is especially good for pop and jazz.
Now the benchmark sound of the CFX is also available in your studio: this carefully recorded virtual instrument combines the impeccable sound of a grand piano with the acoustics of the famous Vienna Synchron Stage, tested by Hollywood standards. Flexibility, convenience and impeccable quality – everything you need for creative freedom.

Absolute precision, spacious sound

The virtual embodiment of this instrument is imbued with our team’s boundless passion for natural sound and impeccable performance experience. We captured this magnificent grand piano in the magical acoustics of Stage A at the Vienna Synchron Stage, renowned for its incredibly warm, rich and natural sound.

At the heart of the project is Yamaha’s award-winning Disklavier Enspire Pro system. It ensures the highest precision, detail and stability of sound throughout the recording. With 4,200 samples per key, our Yamaha CFX virtual grand piano conveys the sound of the real thing with stunning authenticity.

Keys to Perfection

Recording notes with all gradations of key velocity, duration and the smallest nuances is a key challenge in sampling a grand piano, especially when working with the acoustics of an orchestral studio. Our revolutionary Advanced Release Sample Technology comes to the rescue. It automatically selects up to 300 individual release samples for each key, so you get not just a sound, but a living, breathing grand piano with an impeccably natural timbre.
